"Changing Thoughts....Changes Feelings...Changes Your Life!"
Stress is something we all experience. There is no getting away from it. But it doesn't have to be something that takes us down. When we feel stress it is because we have labeled what is happening as something that is uncomfortable and FEELS stressful. Everyone is different as far as what they would label as stressful. Therefore stress for each person only exists within our own thoughts. Since stress only exists in our head, we have a choice on how we label each situation. Our label is creating the stress.
Keep in mind we all have approximately 60,000 thoughts per day. We only speak about 10,000 thoughts per day, this leaves us with 50,000 private conversations within our mind. Those 50,000 thoughts have POWER or influence over us! Our thoughts lead us to FEEL a certain way. For example if you perceive a situation to be difficult or uncomfortable it may FEEL stressful. This FEELING of stress in turn decides on what kind of action you will take or inaction. Some...
We have all said it, "I am going to get back on track next week." Next week comes and we have an excuse why it needs to wait ONE MORE day. The excuse trap becomes our best friend and we end up on the endless road of excuses keeping us stuck in the comfortable zone.
The trick to stopping this viscous cycle is to create awareness about your comfortable zone and BE HONEST...no more lies!! This is usually the most difficult step because it's easier to just keep doing things the way we have always done things without any rhyme or reason. This is true even if what we are doing doesn't get us the results we want but simply because it's easy. This is normal behavior for ALL humans. We try to take the path of least resistance and in this case it means what is comfortable NOT the uncomfortable road (new habits).
By going to the uncomfortable zone and doing something different we have a chance to see results! After all the uncomfortable zone is where all the growth happens! It starts...
So much of our life we are in auto pilot mode. Just doing without really thinking about why we do things. People who are successful become consciously aware and see the opportunities in this world. They look for the solution or look for another perspective to get a solution. Followers think, see and talk about the problems. Life is here to support you....look for the support and/or solution!
In order to stay into this mindset we need to define a few words like: behavior modification and auto pilot. These are modes we all fall into on a daily basis and keep us stuck in destructive patterns. The key to making lasting changes is AWARENESS! When we make conscious choices we get in the flow because we decide on where we are going instead of life happening to us! When you feel like life is just happening to you this becomes stressful and frustrating. Let's start with defining these terms.
